Poverty , a hindrance to success

Dreams, Goals, Success, such sweet words, and i cant help but to feel excited of the thought that they will be soon in my hands. I am a dreamer, a dreamer of success. And my goal is to be able to become who i wanna be, to help my family, despite of a great hindrance along my way, POVERTY.

My father’s a farmer, my mother a houswife and i have four siblings (the first one already got married and the 3 more is at our home with us). If i were to describe our life, it would be somewhat relatable to our recent Miss Universe Miss Catriona’s answer to the final question at the pageant, our life there is poor.

Hope. My family, keeps on telling me that i am my family’s hope. Eversince i started school, I’ve always been reminded by my mother to perform or do my very best, to give not just my one hundred percent but my hundred and one. And as far as i know, i did. I got good grades, i graduated as a valedictorian when i was in elementary, and i am performing well in my highschool. As it maybe called pressure for others, for me it wasn’t one, it’s more of an inspiration to work harder.

Money. We are all aware how important it is and how it rule the world. Lucky are those people who have a lot of it. Lucky for them because they can do and buy anything they want, if they’ll want to. But not for people who have a little like us. Not for people who needed to work everyday just to have a little amount which isn’t even enough to support all the family’s needs. I’ve witnessed how my mother and father fought because of money. I’ve witnessed how my mother cried because she didn’t know what to do anymore.

Studies. My priority is to finish Accountancy in college. But one thing is hindering me with this goal, Poverty or the lack of money. People keep telling behind my back, that i can’t finish my studies because my family lack money. But i believe i can.. Yes, i admit that i can’t finish my studies without money as it is very important. However, money can be earned and support as well.

So, for all dreamers like me who feels down beacuse their family cannot support their studies, keep fighting! Remember the song lyrics saying that after every storm comes a rainbow? Be guided with that one. Money should never hinder you from reaching your goals. What for are the scholarship programs and different supports from organizations and different people, right? Your job is just to do study hard,To perfom well in school and make yourself worthy of the help. Aside from that, being a working student is also a good option. Failing is an option. You’ll fail to achieve your dreams if you’re going to choose to stop the fight. You’ll fail if you’re just going to sit there and watch. Before i end this, let me tell you one more line from the commercial that i can never forget, “to be poor is hard, but to have no dream is harder.”
